UKRI aims to be at the forefront of promoting and embedding inclusion into everything that we do, to ensure the UK research environment is safe, supportive and effective. We champion equality, diversity and inclusion across the research and innovation sector, and support a healthy and high-integrity culture.

In 2018, Professor Jennifer Rubin, Executive Chair of the Economic and Social Research Council was appointed as UKRI’s Executive Champion for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Professor Rubin leads a team to identify challenges and opportunities for equality, diversity and inclusion, to build knowledge of what works and support the development and implementation of effective practices across the sector and to embed this learning internally, to support our existing and future staff.
